Draft treatment

My music video to Jon Bellion’s the Internet is a small production aiming to highlight the problems of attitudes and behaviours toward trends and social expectations. The story would include aspects of social media in sharing my trend and the way people then enforce it both within and outside of the realms of the internet. I’m hoping to attract the usual audience of alternative listeners from the perspective of agreement with my message, however the aspect of social media and trends that I’m highlighting will also attract others familiar with that idea, and therefore attract a wider base whether or not they agree with the final message I provide. I am planning to film in other homes and in open areas such as streets and parks to create differentiation between online aspects that would occur in a personal environment versus the greater outdoors where interactions are bound to happen with people you walk past. The equipment needed for filming would mainly be a phone – this would work well with the themes of the internet and phone based social media, and so using a phone to further amplify that message would fit the theming. Within the confides of indoors and filming the videos needed to create the internet aspect of my video I will use photography lighting to create a professional look and use a tripod to hold the shot still.  I will need screen recording software when recording different parts within the phone, however that can be easily arranged, and if using an iPhone that will already be installed. My crew roles will comprise of actors used for the video (one main male for the main role and a few males and females for roles such as social media influencers and encounters in real life). In terms of effects in the video, that will mainly be the use of social media, and overlays used if I need certain videos within sequences in the format of these sites, however transitions between social media and other videos will need to be figured out if filmed normally, and not in portrait.
